99.9% Uptime Translates to Outstanding Value

Flex Leasing Power and Service improves uptime by more than 5% for new Delaware Basin customer, resulting in significant production and value escalation.

DENVER, April 15, 2019) – Flex Leasing Power and Service, LLC, (FLPS) the leader in gas turbine power solutions for the oil and gas sector, today announced that a highly successful Exploration and Production (E&P) Company with operations in the Delaware Basin has expanded its contractual relationship with FLPS after realizing significantly greater uptime and production value from its initial trial site.

In December of 2018, a progressive, cutting edge E&P Company who had been relying on typically unreliable utility power in the Delaware Basin, sought innovative methods to help increase uptime and reduce lifting costs at their many production sites. In consideration of a solution, the E&P Company elected to install a FLPS power solution at one of its power-strained sites on a trial basis. The wide fuel tolerance, modularity, reliability and on-site flexibility of the Flex Turbine®make it uniquely suited for operations located in remote areas with stressed utility infrastructure. The FLPS solution deploys modular, gas-powered Flex Turbines to fit remote power site needs and bypasses the need for utility power. Three Flex Turbine units were installed and began delivering power to the trial site.

Results from the trial quickly demonstrated that FLPS’ solution was consistently delivering a far greater uptime than what the E&P Company had been experiencing at their Delaware Basin sites. The FLPS powered pad delivered 99.9% uptime, whereas the E&P Company’s other utility powered locations were averaging 94% uptime.

The value of the more than 5% boost in uptime easily translated into increased production for this E&P Company. Not only were they able to avoid delays in production, but expensive equipment replacements that typically result from unexpected losses of power were completely avoided. Accordingly, within one fiscal quarter the E&P Company increased deployment of the FLPS power solution, expanding from the initial test site to four more production locations and adding another 3 MW of power from Flex Turbines. Additional sites are targeted in the coming months with the E&P Company planning to install more than 7 MW of FLPS power solutions to their operations.
