The Flex-Microturbine is ideal for:
The Flex is the low Btu king.
A Flex-Microturbine is installed at an oilfield near Santa Barbara, California, and runs on gas with 15 to 42 Btus per cubic foot (1.5 to 4% the strength of natural gas). This gas currently goes to a thermal oxidizer, which consumes 200,000 cubic feet of natural gas/day to destroy the low Btu gas. Another Flex is installed at the Western Research Institute (Laramie, Wy) to run on waste gas from a coal process.
The Flex has extremely low NOx emissions, well below 1.0 PPM. Testing was performed by Univ of California, Riverside. The reason for ultra-low NOx is the unique oxidation system keeps temperatures well below NOx formation thresholds.
The Flex will generate power for your own use, displacing purchased power, and surplus heat is available for your CHP needs.
The Flex may also be used as a thermal oxidizer
