CALIFORNIA BUSINESSES PAY TOO MUCH FOR UNRELIABLE POWER

AVOID BLACKOUTS AND LOWER COSTS

PAYING TOO MUCH FOR POWER YET STILL FACING GRID OUTAGES?

Throughout much of California, commercial and industrial consumers of energy pay between $0.10 and $0.20 per kWh for bundled electricity. Meanwhile, with California’s prevalent blackouts and planned outages due to transmission risks, power supply from the grid is anything but reliable. Power outages can be devastating for vital industries, large employers, urban centers, and campuses. Extended blackouts may not only result in production and sale losses but can also damage your product, particularly if climate control is critical to your inventory.

Flex Turbines present a cost-effective, efficient, and clean solution for reliable on-site electricity during intermittent or extended interruptions. Flex Energy Solutions’ systems operate in dual mode configuration, providing power to priority loads in case of utility outages.

If reliable, consistent, clean power isn’t enough to consider, using cogeneration (cogen) for facility cooling or heating can save California companies hundreds of thousands of dollars per year off utility bills.

A typical industrial or commercial facility pairs electricity from the local utility with a boiler to supplement facility heating and/or cooling. However, nearly two-thirds of the energy from this configuration gets wasted in the form of heat released into the atmosphere. With cogen, this otherwise wasted heat is captured as useful thermal energy. Electricity is generated on-site and resulting thermal energy can be used for cooling, hot water, space heating or other processes. This increases a facility’s energy efficiency from about 33% up to as much as 75%, deriving considerable energy cost savings.

Certified to the California Air Resources Board Natural Gas Distributed Generation Standard, Flex Turbines provide resilient power with lower environmental impact and at a far lower cost. Plus, California offers a number of loan programs, rebates, and other financial incentives to help non-residential customers improve their energy efficiency and lower their energy costs with cogen.
