A Flex-Microturbine is currently being installed at an oilfield near Santa Barbara, California, to run on 42 Btu gas, which now goes to a thermal oxidizer that uses 200,000 cubic feet of natural gas a day.
The Flex has extremely low NOx emissions, well below 0.1 PPM. Testing was performed by Univ of California, Riverside. The reason for ultra-low NOx is that catalytic combustion keeps temperatures well below NOx formation thresholds.
The Flex will generate power for your own use, displacing purchased power, and surplus heat is available for your CHP needs.
The Flex is a thermal oxidizer that uses far less fuel than traditional oxidizers
