Jay Mitchell

Chief Executive Officer
Georgia State University, BS, Business Administration. University of Texas, MBA, Taxation.

Jay Mitchell has two decades of experience in Energy-related Equipment Manufacturing Companies, both public and private.  Most recently, he was the CFO and Senior Vice President of T-3 Energy Services Inc., an oilfield products and services business for the drilling and completion of oil & gas wells. T-3 was acquired by Robbins & Myers in January of 2011 at a closing valuation of $597 million. While at T-3, Jay was responsible for partnering with the CEO and board on all strategic issues as well as directly overseeing all financial, human resources and information technology issues including accounting, SEC reporting, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, treasury, tax, budgeting and planning and investor relations. Jay helped build, review and value strategies including facility location and optimization, internal and external growth, product line expansion and changes to customer relationships.

Throughout his career, Jay has had extensive experience in fundraising for major ventures in which he was involved. Prior to his time at T-3, he was the CFO in the spin-off of Pride International Inc.’s Latin American Segment, which was sold to GP Investments Ltd. for one billion dollars in 2007. He served as Director of Investor Relations and Treasurer of Grant Prideco Inc., from 2003 to 2007. Prior to Grant Prideco, Jay served as a Director of International Tax of Azurix Corporation from 1998 to 1999 and International Tax Manager of Arthur Andersen LLP.

Jay graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting and was an honors graduate of the University of Texas earning a master’s degree in Business Administration, Taxation.

 

John Alday

Vice President, Engineering

John is the VP of Engineering at FlexEnergy Inc, bringing over 20 years of experience in product development and implementation of leading-edge technologies.  John is responsible for product and technology development, and product and manufacturing engineering.

He has over 19 years of experience with Ingersoll Rand in the air compressor and turbine businesses. In addition to his position as Director of Global Engineering and Recuperators, he also held staff level leadership positions with responsibility for operations, facility management and project delivery. Formerly, John was a field engineer for Schlumberger Well Services, providing engineering services in the Gulf of Mexico on exploration drilling rigs. John holds two patents and is based in Charlotte, NC.

 

Mark Greer

Vice President, Global Services

Mark Greer is responsible for FlexEnergy Inc’s Global Services, which includes delivery, commissioning, continuing support to our customers and reliability improvement. He is responsible for providing excellent commissioning services, field service and support for FlexEnergy Inc’s customers along with onsite and remote support of each of our installations. Mark currently manages over 225 turbines globally in landfills, wastewater treatment plants, oil fields, pyrolysis applications, hospitals, and other CHP and direct-fired turbine projects.

Mark has over 39 years of experience including 23 years with Ingersoll Rand (IR), as a Global Service Manager for IR Energy Systems, and also as a Service Manager, Technical Service, and Product Engineering Specialist for IR Air Solutions. He is based in Concord, NC.

 

Mike Levin

Vice President of Government Affairs

Mike Levin is responsible for the FlexEnergy Inc public policy outreach opportunities to local, county, regional, state, and federal agencies, representatives, and staffers. He has most recently served as an attorney at Bryan Cave LLP, focusing his practice on governmental affairs and environmental law. Prior to joining Bryan Cave, Mike was Vice President of a clean technology startup company. Mike is a co-founder and officer of CleanTech OC, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of existing clean tech companies and providing opportunities for future clean tech investments in the Orange County region. Throughout the last decade, Mike has worked on a variety of local, state and national political campaigns. He graduated from Duke Law School and Stanford University and has also completed a Coro Foundation fellowship in Public Affairs.

 

Boris Maslov, Ph.D.

Boris is the Vice President of Corporate Development. Prior to joining FlexEnergy Inc, Boris was the CEO of Energy One, a renewable energy project development company. He has served as CEO of several technology and financial companies, as well as CTO of WaveCrest Laboratories, a manufacturing company specializing in electric transportation markets.

As a leading Russian scientist, Dr. Maslov spent his early career working in Moscow for various organizations, including the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, the Foreign Policy Association established by Edward Shevardnadze, and the Soviet-American Foundation Cultural Initiative established by George Soros. Dr. Maslov is a senior member of IEEE and holds more than 30 US and international patents.

 

Daniel P. Whelan

Vice President, Finance
San Jose State University- BS Finance, Minor Accounting and Mathematics

Mr. Whelan has over 30 years of financial and operations experience in numerous high-tech industries, including serving as president and CFO for Evergreen Holdings Co. a company that re-refined used motor oil.  His roles have included active and successful involvement in acquisitions, turnaround situations, debt restructuring, new systems implementation, SEC reporting, public offering, and company reorganizations.  He has served as CFO for KRh Thermal Systems; President and CFO for Evergreen Holdings, Inc.; CFO for Birtcher Medical Systems; CFO for Wespercorp; board member, Motorvac Technologies; Vice president Finance for Cahn Instrument; division controller for Hughes Aircraft Company; and division controller for Fairchild Semiconductor.
