Biogas - Anaerobic Digester Renewable CHP

See how Flex Turbine® are running on anaerobic digester (AD) gas, preventing flaring and supplying onsite renewable CHP.

With less than 9 ppmv of NOx, CO and most VOC emissions, the Flex Turbine® readily meets air quality standards and environmental regulations. The Flex Turbine provides these energy intensive AD plants both clean air and cost saving 24/7 renewable energy.

Anaerobic digester (AD) projects reduce greenhouse gas emissions by capturing and combusting methane from organics diverted from landfills. The quality of the renewable digester gas varies with the different organic feedstocks from sewage, agricultural, animal waste processing, and dairy facilities.

The Flex Turbine® with its tolerance for gas compositions with low methane, high CO2 and high H2S is ideal for converting these different qualities of biogas into clean electricity and useful heat. Multiple Flex Turbines are deployed to match the AD’s biogas output to maximize renewable energy production. The hot water output from the Flex Turbine® CHP solution can be used to control AD temperature conditions providing efficient operations with the optimal biogas output.
